EW #331
has had a long and successful career in all phases of domestic and international logistics, with special focus on the chemical and process industries. He is a skilled manager and innovator with a successful record of accomplishment in restructuring logistics operations through the application of advanced software technologies and implementation of leading edge "Best Practices".

He spent 16 years with A Chemical Company in a variety of domestic and international positions of increasing responsibility and held the position of General Traffic Manager for Dow-USA in 1982. After leaving Dow, he managed the North American trading operations for a large Swedish chemical company as their Executive Vice President. He subsequently joined Olin Corporation as Director of Transportation & Distribution Services for the Chemicals Group. Through his 12 year span with Olin, he successfully moved through a variety of assignments and responsibilities and, in 1995, was named Vice President-Logistics for a major division. He retired from Olin in 1997.

During his career,  EW #331 assumed project responsibility for a variety of logistics initiatives. He was directly responsible for $400 million in transportation expenditures for Dow-USA. At Olin, he introduced leading edge software programs to more effectively managed Olins 3,600 car rail fleet and freight management and payment processes. The efficiencies achieved through these software applications resulted in significant administrative and transaction cost reductions. He successfully introduced the supply-chain management concept to Olins Microelectronics Materials Division, dramatically improving service to a variety of JIT/semi-conductor customers while reducing logistics expenditures by over 10%.

EW #331  has a BS degree in Business from Jacksonville State University (Alabama) and an MA degree in Transportation from the University of Alabama. He is a registered ICC Practitioner and is a Certified Member of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics. He was Chairman of the Distribution Committee of the Chemical Manufacturers Association in 1996-97 and, over his career, has led a variety of chemical industry safety, productivity and regulatory initiatives. In addition to his activities in the CMA, he represented Olin Corporation and the chemical industry in The Chlorine Institute, National Freight Transportation Association and the National Industrial Transportation League. In recognition of logistics innovation, leading-edge technology applications and Olins leadership position in distribution safety, Olin Corporation and EW #331  were awarded "Transportation & Distribution" Magazines "Excellence In Logistics" award for 1995.

EW #331  founded his consulting practice in Ridgefield, CT in 1997, upon his retirement from Olin Corporation. Since that time, he has assisted a number of Fortune 500 corporations in successfully addressing a wide-range of logistics and supply chain assignments. Additionally, he has consulted as an Expert Witness, specializing in chemical industry transportation litigation (49CFR) and has been accepted as an Expert Witness in Logistics and Distribution by the Mississippi State Courts. He  undertakes executive recruiting assignments, specializing in senior transportation positions.
