EW #470 is one of the nation's foremost authorities on wetlands restoration and creation. A biology graduate of the University of Florida, with a master's degree in zoology from the University of South Florida, hewas a professor and chairman of the biology department at Hillsborough Community College before opening his first consulting firm, Mangrove Systems, Inc., in 1975. That company later became the environmental division of Proctor & Redfern, Inc. and heestablished a new company, Environmental Services, in 1989.
An accomplished speaker and author of more than 50 scientific papers, hehas served on several key committees advising federal, state and local environmental managers. He has made invited scientific presentations worldwide, including New Guinea, Australia, France, Spain, Mexico and Colombia.
EW #470 is a member of more than a dozen professional organizations, and is a Certified Environmental Professional, Professional Wetlands Scientist, and Certified Senior Ecologist.
Hewas among the first in the U.S. to successfully restore damaged wetlands, and has been leading the vanguard of progress in habitat restoration and creation for more than 20 years. To date, hehas designed more than 125 completed wetland restoration or creation projects in the United States, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has earned a well-deserved reputation among his peers as a leader in ecosystem management and restoration, and has presented invited papers on these subjects in the U.S., France, Spain, Mexico, Australia, New Guinea and a number of Caribbean, Central and South American Countries. His work has been featured in articles in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and The Orlando Sentinel.
