SUMMARY

Skilled Systems/Business Analyst with expertise in developing requirements, flow-through processes and standards for Legacy Operational Support Systems (OSS) including Network Management Administration (NMA). Experienced at planning, designing, implementing and integrating synchronous and asynchronous optical network configurations. Able to evaluate new vendor technologies and changing needs, develop requirements to incorporate into OSS then work with vendors to enhance or modify systems. Skilled in performing functional testing to validate results and ensure system functionality then work with users through implementation.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

As Business/Systems Analyst and Subject Matter Expert for SkyOptix, defined functional as well as technical requirements for software application that monitored optical switches produced by vendors including Cisco, Fujitsu, Alcaltel, Nortel, and Lucent. Documented applications specifications that captured switch as well as optical network characteristics and permitted monitoring capabilities. Forwarded requirements to software engineers/development group for coding. Worked with IT to provide subject matter expertise to resolve errors or discrepancies.
At WorldCom, developed requirements documentation as well as process flow charts to support the network design and implementation of new services including VoIP and Voice over DSL (VoDSL). Created requirements for enhancements and modifications to OSS end user systems.

Developed functional and system requirements as well as process flows to implement VoDSL and VoIP service offerings and network architecture as member of IT group. Defined network and user requirements covering sales through installation functionality in WorldCom and MCI systems. Interfaced with equipment vendors including Cisco to develop common VoIP platforms ensuring internal system specifications could be integrated. Performed UAT testing for system order flow-through. Supported development of implementation methodology as well as end user methods and procedures.

As member of IT, defined system requirements for enhancements and modifications to OSS systems including order entry, sales and provisioning. Represented users on team to ensure functional objectives were met in system development. Conducted UAT testing, then validated results and redefined requirements to correct system errors.

As Business Analyst, defined and documented business requirements for enhancements and modifications to T-Com provisioning system. Worked with system users to gather requirements then developed documentation and submitted to IT for coding. Participated in developing and executing UAT testing to ensure requirements were met.

On regional staff as SONET and TIRKS SME, supported implementation of optical, digital and analog networks for the five-state Ameritech region through telemetry design, test head placement and connectivity. Developed regional standards and process to inventory as well as deploy equipment and facilities. Managed incorporation and installation of new technologies into TIRKS modules. Acted as Ameritech liaison between vendors and Bellcore to develop feature requirements for enhancements to TIRKS to accommodate new vendor equipment Through Telcordia OSMINE process. As the OSMINE/ New Vendor Evaluation process manager for Ameritech, managed TIRKS E1 Catalog updates and enhancements.

As Interoffice Facility Planner for Ameritech, planned and facilitated installation as well as maintenance of optic as well as copper interoffice transport routes in Southern Michigan. Responsible for ordering Digital Cross Connect as well as new technology equipment. Monitored and increased capacity to meet demand. Established backbone transport, built new transports and added SONET rings. Reviewed long-range plans and forecasts for high-capacity and special service circuits. Determined what types of equipment to purchase to be cost effective yet meet demand for capacity. Created job orders for equipment purchases then worked with TIRKS group to inventory equipment. Wrote transport orders in TIRKS to connect and terminate equipment, creating channel capacity for DS1s and higher.

As Process Manager in Service Integration and Delivery at Ameritech, developed regional standards to build DS1 to DS3 digital carrier systems and optical SONET transport systems in TIRKS F1 module. Responsible for TIRKS E1 module which provides a physical inventory of equipment including muxes, channel banks, test sets and electronic switches. Interfaced with impacted internal groups to establish end-to-end processes to create inventories as well as build transport systems in TIRKS for field installation.

Gathered requirements from interoffice capacity and loop capacity planners, design engineers, circuit provisioners and the Fiber Work Group (FWG) responsible for equipment installations in the field. Defined content and format of data in TIRKS databases to inventory equipment and support flow-through activities. Built models for transport systems in PRO/CDS, the automated circuit design module of TIRKS.

Evaluated new technologies and associated equipment then assembled impacted groups to develop a step-by-step process to provision circuits in TIRKS. Defined feature requirements and created a process map for M&P writers to develop procedures to inventory and provision equipment for new transport technologies as well as circuit assignments. To meet critical due dates, established manual process to design circuits that fail to flow through PRO/CDS. Supported process flows through TIRKS, SWITCH, LFACS and LMOS that impact DS1 to OC48 circuit inventories.

Interfaced with Bellcore as well as internal programmers for changes and enhancements to TIRKS modules. Participated on joint team with local TIRKS users and Bellcore to define and document requirements for enhancements to inventory modules. Worked with circuit designers to ensure requirements met needs then submitted requirements to Bellcore for incorporation into upcoming releases. Coordinated testing and installation of major semi-annual releases as well as periodic fixes.

Directed team that loaded new releases into TIRKS test system then tested new feature functionality and conducted regression testing. Evaluated the impact of new releases then determined the degree of testing required. Developed test scenarios and coordinated execution of testing to ensure all requirements were met.

As Technical Instructor on rotation at Telcordia, taught SONET/Fiber Optic courses as well as TIRKS curriculum. Participated on large team that defined and documented the initial requirements document for TCOM then supported customers that purchased TCOM. Responsible for course development and delivery of TIRKS E1, F1, PRO/CDS and catalog modules. Delivered one to two-week hands-on classes in formal classroom setting using on-line TIRKS system in training database. Developed and updated courses in PowerPoint with multi-media type presentations as required.
