BIO / Resume / CV:
With his unique combination of experience, innovation, academic achievement and community involvement, I am one of America's most distinguished practitioners in the fields of Periodontics and Dental Implants. A graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, Dr.B earned Certificates of Proficiency in Periodontics and Adult Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, making him the first in the country to acquire this rare double specialty. A Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration, I have earned the respect of both his peers and his patients.

But Dr.B. takes particular pride in the roles of teacher and mentor. His academic appointments include faculty positions at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, Temple University School of Dentistry and the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He has been a guest lecturer at the National Naval Dental Center and Walter Reed Army Hospital, as well as dental schools across the country. And he currently serves as Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. B is an attending in Periodontics at Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he is co-founder of the Dental Implant Team and Director of the Dental Implant Center. He is the Director of the Department of Periodontics at Graduate Hospital, and former director of Periodontics at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Dr. B served as a Lieutenant in the U. S. Naval Dental Corps and has been a special consultant to the Army Dental Corps and the U. S. Public Health Service.
Equally active in professional and scientific circles, Dr. B has served as chairman of the Committee on Public and Professional Relations of the American Academy of Periodontology, and he is a past president of both the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Societies of Periodontology. He was elected and served as a member of the Board of Directors, the governing body of the American Academy of Periodontology, representing every Periodontist from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Northern Virginia. In addition, he is widely published in professional journals, has contributed to important texts in his field, and is a frequent guest speaker before dental societies in the United States and abroad.

Dr. B maintains a busy private practice specializing in Periodontics and Dental Implants in Center City Philadelphia. In addition, during the 70s he founded The Perio Group, an unprecedented network that provided in-house periodontal services to general dental practices in the Delaware Valley. He is acknowledged as an innovator in dental practice management and has published on the subject.

Long active in civic affairs, both Dr. B and his wife, Pelley, support the arts as well, through their involvement with The Print Club of Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Institute of Contemporary Art. An avid skier, Dr. B is a certified ski instructor at Elk Mountain, Pennsylvania and a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America.
