Dr. Haskell has been involved in EMS since 1983, and has served as a provider, educator, supervisor, researcher and writer. Editor and author of the EMS Pearls of Wisdom series of exam preparation texts, he has worked to bridge the theories of academic emergency medicine with the practice of EMS, the world of the Trauma Center with the realities of the street. As a paramedic at Egleston Childrens Hospital in Atlanta he developed a special expertise in pediatric EMS, and his work as a legal expert in EMS cases has given him an informed view of the interface between medicine and law. Dr. Haskell is active as an emergency paramedic and educator in southern Indiana. He holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University, has served on the faculties of Oberlin College and Emory University, and holds instructorships in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Pediatric Emergencies for Prehospital Professionals, Prehospital Trauma Life Support, is a Nationally Registered and Indiana Certified Paramedic and Primary Instructor.
