Experience

• January 2003 to Present: Conduct indoor air quality investigations and assessments for residential and commercial properties. Evaluate fire, water, defect and other damages, create repair cost estimates, provide expert witness services for clients during arbitration, mediation and other legal proceedings and evaluate other expert reports and assessments and create assessments regarding same.

• March 2002 to December 2002: Indoor Air Quality Manager. Managed all indoor air quality issues on client’s claims and projects involving water damage to properties as well as the remediation and restoration issues effected by Mold, Asbestos, Lead and other environmental hazards.

• November 1999 to March 2002: Director of New Construction. Conduct indoor air quality assessments, remediation and restoration estimates for clients owning residential and commercial properties experiencing water damage. Responsible for marketing and bidding new construction projects while providing estimating services for all departments. Provide expert witness services to attorneys on claims involving repair costs and construction means and methods. Provide design services for new construction and remodeling projects. Construction manager for new home construction projects from design to budget preparation, sub-contractor selection, scheduling, budget monitoring to final completion.

• March 1997 to February 2002: Commercial Claims Adjuster. State licensed Property and Casualty Adjuster with commercial claims responsibility. Responsible for all commercial damage assessments and repair cost estimates. Conducted indoor air quality assessments and remediation estimates for commercial and residential properties with contamination and damage from mold, asbestos and lead.

• May 1995 to February 1997: Cosmetic Production Manager.  Responsible for estimating and coordination of all cosmetic restoration projects on both commercial and residential properties. Implemented “Xactimate” estimating software usage company wide and trained staff adjusters and project managers in its use. Developed and trained adjusting and construction staff for estimating and project supervision while providing repair cost estimates for staff adjuster claims.

• August 1993 to April 1995: Project Manager and Estimator. Estimated construction and repair cost for all assigned bid and remodeling projects. Managed and supervised ground-up restaurant construction projects in South Texas. Built Rally’s, Red Line Burgers, Boston Chickens, Wendys and Stone Works in San Antonio, Houston, Victoria, Corpus Christi and the Valley.

• November 1992 to July 1993: President and General Manager. Managed $3,000,000 in sales and service business in the residential and commercial swimming pool market. Hired, trained and supervised over forty employees. Planned and produced increased sales and profitability for the corporation.

• February 1990 to May 1991: Business owner responsible for marketing, estimating and project management for commercial interior finish outs in malls, strip centers and office buildings. Prepared construction cost bids and budgets for all projects. Provided sub-contractor coordination and supervision. Note: Renewed operation of Best Construction Services (July 1997 to December 2002) to provide construction consulting and estimating services for property owners and attorneys involved in construction damage litigation.

• September 1988 to February 1990: General Superintendent and Estimator. Provided estimating and project management services for commercial interior finish out clients. Created construction cost budgets and cost control during the entire project. Provided sub-contractor coordination and supervision while maintaining client support services from budget preparation and bidding until final project completion.

• March 1987 to August 1988: Project Manager. Provided estimating and project management services for commercial interior finish out clients. Created construction cost budgets and cost control during the entire project.
