Received board certification in Diagnostic Radiology in June 1984 after completing the residency program at UCLA Hospital and Clinics. He completed one of the first Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) fellowships in 1985 and has been in private practice since. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at the UCLA School of Medicine, he has medical student and resident teaching responsibilities.

EW #188 has subspecialty expertise in neuro and musculoskeletal imaging, particularly regarding MRI and computed tomography (CT).

He is the Founding Publisher and Editor of two internationally recognized publications, Magnetic Resonance Update and Consultations in Radiology & Imaging, published since 1989. He has written articles on several topics related to litigation including but not limited to Head Trauma, Cervical Spine Injuries, Back Pain, Knee Injuries, Shoulder Pain, and Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction.
