EW #255 has more than 40 years experience in the marine industry, as an owner, pilot, operator and marine contractor with service on the entire Western Rivers system, Gulf Coast and Great Lake waters.

His background includes towing and fleeting, marine construction, dredging and salvage work, marine surveying and brokerage, casualty investigation and reconstruction, maritime litigation support, expert testimony, and consulting in marine safety.

EW #255 & Associates, Inc. specializes in the planning, design and permitting of docks, terminals and marine structures of all types, and has been involved in more projects in the Pittsburgh area than any other consulting firm. Complete services include surveys, soundings, preparation of plans and specifications and processing of all required federal and state permits.

He is publisher of As They Say On the River, the unique dictionary of Western Rivers towing which received warm reviews from leading maritime journals. He is a frequent contributor of articles on marine safety and technical matters.

EW #255 has been active in maritime forensic work for more than 30 years, and has extensive experience in marine casualty investigation, accident analysis and reconstruction, legal research and other aspects of trial preparation. He has been retained in a variety of cases, involving vessel collisions, seamen's personal injuries, longshoremen's matters, and pleasure boating actions.

He has testified in state and federal courts throughout the eastern United States, and has served as a maritime arbitrator and mediator. He is publisher of As They Say On the River, a unique dictionary of the terms and phrases used in the river towing industry, which is recognized as standard reference work. He is also the author of articles on maritime topics which appear frequently in the Waterways Journal and other leading maritime publications.
