Reviewed the design of systems for clients; some of these systems involved many gigabytes of data and high transaction rates.

Technical manager/system architect for several major DBMS systems.

Beta-tested DBMS connectivity gateways. Development of an automated cross-referencer and Dictionary population tools.

Monitored and evaluated DBMS performance. Interacted with numerous software vendors and consulting firms.

Accomplished in the strategic and technical application of DBMS and software development technologies to the solution of diverse business and system requirements.

Experienced working with these on the mainframe, mini, and personal computer platforms, in the capacity of installer, developer, designer, project manager, auditor, DBMS administrator, and subject matter expert. Assisted numerous clients across a broad spectrum of business environments, from the very small to the very large.

Assistance has included taking a leadership role for the clients in the areas of product selection, administration, installation, customization, project auditing, systems development, tuning and performance evaluation, project damage control, and function point analysis.

Experienced in the handling of JAD-type sessions for solving several different kinds of business problems. Authored several manuals in the installation and implementation of database systems.

Authority in the area of DBMS design, utilization, and information structures. Proficient in the management of technical staff, including areas such as recruiting, performance evaluations, and staff development.

Successfully implemented ambitious information systems for several government and private institutions. All these systems were completed on-time and within budget. Throughout the systems development life cycle, process improvement was effected through quality metrics, analysis, and feedback. Certified by the International Function Point Users Group as a 'Certified Function Point Specialist' - one of only a few hundred worldwide.

Retained as an expert witness/subject matter expert in several information technology related, multi-million dollar litigation. Provide expert opinion on project management, industry best practices, project estimation, software measurement, damage calculations, technical architecture, procurement practices, application development issues, RFP preparation, IT's economic impact, computer human interaction, and the influence of computers on society.

Formerly a Managing Consultant for Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group. Along with client obligations, had accountability in marketing, RFP responses, staff hiring and evaluations, and quality assurance of project deliverables. Graduated in 1981 after two years of study with a BS degree.

Subsequently pursued further studies in accounting, computer science, math, management, and microprocessor technology. Over the past two decades has taken part in various endeavors in the information systems industry, such as teaching computing at the collegiate level and writing award-winning software.
