Medical Illustration requires an aptitude for both medical analysis and visual communication. The best medical illustrators have a passion for science and medicine and innate artistic talent. In application, the illustrator communicates medical information in the most appropriate manner for the intended consumer. Undergraduate Requirements: A bachelors degree from an accredited college or university, with either a major in art and minor in biological sciences, or a major in science and minor in art. Pre-Med Science Courses: General Biology / Zoology, Comparative Vertebrate Anatomy, Human Physiology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Embryology, and Histology Representative Illustration Courses: Drawing, Color Theory, Painting, Life Drawing, Graphic Design, Advertising Design, Photography, and Computer Graphics. We have assisted our clients by providing medical illustrations for courtroom exhibits in litigation for more than 15 years. During that time, we have researched and illustrated various topics within these areas of medical science creating evidence boards for medical malpractice, product liability, and personal injury cases for both defendant and plaintiff attorneys.
