Prior to establishing the firm in 1990, served as a Vice President with Broadcast Investment Analysts, where he directed the company's valuation consulting group for non-broadcast industries. With over 20 years of experience, he has performed appraisals of broadcast, paging, cellular telephone, specialized mobile radio, cable television, telephone, satellite communications and multi-channel microwave distribution service companies. He was instrumental in developing the valuation strategy for Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license valuations. This valuation approach was accepted in the landmark Jefferson-Pilot Corporation FCC license amortization case, decided by the United States Tax Court on April 14, 1992.

He has been actively involved in the appraisal of broadcast, cable television, mobile communications and other telecommunications properties since 1978. He has participated in the field survey and appraisal of over 1,500 mobile communications, broadcast and cable television facilities. He has undertaken appraisal projects for a number of major telecommunications companies including Ameritech, BellSouth, Metromedia Southwestern Bell, Arch Mobile Communications, C-TEC Corporation, United States Cellular Corporation, Nextel Communications and others.He has provided expert valuation reports for a number of leading telecommunications law firms. He has also provided expert testimony regarding valuation issues before various state and federal courts and the United States Tax Court. He has appeared on numerous communications industry panels, having addressed the membership of INTELSAT on the economics of small earth stations for data communications and the PCIA and the American SMR Network industry associations on various tax and valuation related issues. He has also been interviewed regarding various wireless communication industry valuation issues in both Wireless Week and Radio Communications Report. He has also been interviewed for National Public Radios All Things Considered. He has authored numerous articles published in trade publications regarding tax and valuation issues pertaining to the communications industry.

He is a graduate of Antioch College with a B.A. in Communications. He has completed courses in Accounting and Business Law at Georgetown University Graduate Business School. He is a Member of the American Society of Appraisers and has attained the status of Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in the Business Valuation discipline. He holds an FCC First Class Radio Telephone License and is certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers for both radio and television. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1969.
