Short Biography:
received his B.A. in Sociology in 1967, his M.A. in Sociology in 1969, and his Ph.D. in Educational Sociology in 1971 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
He has been a professor, and former chair, in the Department of Criminal Justice and Security Administration at the University of Detroit Mercy since 1977. Prior to that date, he was a probation officer, police academy director, and professor at the College of the Virgin Islands. He has served as an occasional guest lecturer at the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, and lectures on a regular basis in specialized seminars sponsored by the Detroit Police Department.
In addition, he has made formal presentations to the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), Defense Research Institute (DRI), American Bar Association (ABA), International Chiefs of Police (IACP), state bar associations, and numerous other groups. A graduate of the National Crime Prevention Institute, he is designated a Certified Protection Professional by the American Society for Industrial Security.
