Medical Director, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System, where he assesses and treats suicidal, violent, amd dangerous individuals, including stalkers and threateners; ! he does risk/threat assessment and involuntary hospitalization and treatment. He has created and run substance abuse treatment programs at the VA Medical Center. He has an active private practice treating addictions to alcohol, cocaine, amphetamines, pain pills, heroin, and sex.
Consulted in civil and criminal matters, consulted to the California Medical Board as an expert reviewer, and has conducted independent medical examinations for insurance companies. Also assesses accused child molesters using the Abel Assessment and has consulted in Internet pornography and rape cases.
