CLINICAL INTERESTS
EW #828 is a a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, is one of the most "up and coming" gynecologic oncologists in the United States. He has a strong and growing reputation in academic gynecologic oncology, as well as a strong track record of achievement in both the clinical and basic sciences. Hisexpertise and clinical interests are in the areas of Women's Health, gynecologic cancers, prevention, and screening. Heis an expert in performing radical pelvic surgery, including ovarian cancer surgery, gastrointestinal and urologic procedures.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
EW #828's research interests are principally in the field of ovarian cancer biology and therapeutics. This work is being conducted in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology, some through collaboration with other principal investigators at UCI and in national cooperative groups.
Hisexpertise in the medical informatics, database design and management, and statistical methods has benefited major projects within the Division of Gynecologic Oncology. For example, he established and coordinated a clinical and research database system, which is now networked across four medical campuses. In 2003, he was appointed as Chair of the Informatics Committee of the SGO.
