Forensics and Expert Witness
He has provided forensic services in the packaging industry for ten years. Cases have involved product liability, food contamination, adulterated (tampered) packaging, labels and label/graphics copy, regulatory compliance, marketing competitiveness, project management, hazardous materials, shipping and distribution issues and processing machinery, The firm has experience in both civil and criminal cases and has given depositions and testimony.
Expert witness - has routinely undertaken several litigation cases serving both plaintiffs and defendants involving package design, defective packaging, engineering, project management and converting/manufacturing in the food, pharmaceutical, medical device and industrial sectors due to issues involving unfit for use products, bodily injury, patent infringement, management/business conflicts and technical deficiencies.
He is currently involved with technology transfer activities for industrial and humanitarian projects around the world. He has completed over thirty years of industrial activities ranging from applied development schemes to conceptual analysis of problems and planning. He attended Villanova University obtaining a B.S. in Chemistry in 1968, an M.B.A. at Barry University in Miami in 1986 and is currently finishing his Doctorate in Business Administration with emphasis on crisis management in business and government related to organizational development and strategy issues.
For the last thirty years, he has worked closely with the construction, food, packaging, pharmaceutical and health care industries and has taken an active role in development of products and processes as well as a consultant and committee member on various industry associations and the private sector Vice Presidential Gore political appointee to the United States-Russian Agricultural Commission. He has been responsible for coordination of methods development activities now certified by international standards bodies for the food packaging, chemical and pharmaceutical industries and has consulted and offered methodologies to the Fortune 500 companies for the novel testing of innovative packaging forms in the food industry. He has guest lectured on the University level and has presented courses and seminars to industry on many phases of technical issues related to research and development in the package and converting sector. His present interests include development and marketing activities in the food industry with emphasis on packaging, its multiple forms and future generation products; and use of expert systems analysis in design and research related areas, and global marketing of finished products. He is currently lecturing and advising in Eastern Europe on US packaging technologies and is trouble shooting packaging problems in their food and packaging industries. He also has major interest in the development of various forms of packaging materials as well as extrusion laminations to be used as substitutes for more traditional conversion materials for environmental protection. Key areas of interest in the environmental sector also include package development projects leading to source reduction and curbing resource depletion. Interests in the pharmaceutical industry include development and marketing activities with emphasis on transdermal drug delivery systems, their platforms and next generation products and use of chemical computer modeling in drug development. He performs business assessments and authors restructuring plans for enterprises in emerging and transitional economies.
He has served as Vice President of the South Florida Chapter of the Project Management Institute for four terms and is a founding member. He has also served on the Broward County Economic Development Board's Committee of 100 addressing growth and assistance issues for South Florida business. He is a consulting member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals, Chairman of its International Council and is a member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry.
