BACKGROUND: As Chairman and a founding Principal Owner of The Group, EW #373 provides strategic direction to all the firm's operations, subsidiaries, and affiliated companies. Since founding ||| in 1976, he has been the Project Manager or a primary team member for engagements involving some of the firm's most complex and challenging assignments. These engagements have involved Management Consulting, Risk Management, and Dispute Resolution services. His career has included project and corporate management positions, including serving as Chairman of ESB, Inc., an international power and process plant maintenance management consulting and software company. He has served extensively as an arbitrator, member and/or chairman of Dispute Review Boards, expert witness (arbitrations - ICC, AAA, SIAC, LRCA, BCAC -- around the world, federal and state courts, and regulatory hearings), mediator, partnering, facilitator, and instructor (public and private - see attached list).
Regarding Management Consulting engagements, he analyzes executive, operations and project management process, performance and effectiveness in private corporations, including regulated industries and government entities. Engagements have been for multi-national, non-U.S. and U.S. companies, and public/quasi public agencies and government operations being privatized. These engagements have included companies and organizations involving the construction, engineering, process, power, manufacturing and transportation industries. Significant assignments have included engineering and construction of nuclear and fossil power plants; the project and engineering groups of manufacturing and process industries; governmental programs; Engineer-Constructors, transportation systems. He has developed numerous management evaluation techniques and trains organizations in project management and risk management methodologies and applications.
In the Risk Management arena, he has been one of the global innovators in applying risk management techniques to programs, processes and projects. Engagements have been for corporations and governmental organizations world-wide, including those involved with high technology, manufacturing, transportation, power process, engineering-construction, software applications, and oil and gas projects.
Relative to Dispute Resolution services, he has extensive strategic, analytical and expert testimony experience involving engineered and constructed programs and projects. He has been qualified internationally as an expert in ICC, SIAC, LRCA, AAA arbitration and U.S. Courts (jury and non-jury) including federal, state and local, and U.S. federal and state regulatory agencies. He has provided expert testimony on projects engineering, construction and operations management, project controls, delay/acceleration, disruption cost damages and the proper analytical technical therefore. He has testified on a wide variety of projects - infrastructure, industrial, process, oil and gas, power buildings and ships. Industries have included power, transportation, process, industrial, commercial and institutional structures, hospitality/entertainment facilities, and ship building. He has served as a Dispute Review Board (DRB) member and Chairman for projects internationally including transportation, infrastructure and process plant facilities. He has several as an arbitrator internationally on a broad spectrum of projects since 1972 and has successfully mediated complex issues for parties in a similarly diverse spectrum of projects.
He has traveled in over 60 countries worldwide, including having performed engagements with organizations and projects in most. Significant international engagement experience has included:

He was the project manager for the development of the most widely used construction cost and time estimating system and data banks. Similarly, he led the development of the United States Government's Construction Management Control System (CMCS). He also managed the global consulting division of an international construction management firm.
