EW #1085 is He began his employment with NTI in 2000, after 9 years policing experience in Canada. He began his career as a police officer with the London Police Force in London, Ontario. In 1994 he joined the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), where his duties consisted of patrol officer, field training officer for new recruits, community policing officer, and undercover narcotics investigations.
In 1996 he was assigned to the OPP's Child Pornography Unit, which is the largest investigative unit investigating child pornography in Canada. As a Detective in the Child Pornography Unit, his duties involved online Internet investigations and the forensic processing of seized computers. His duties also required him to work closely not only with other Canadian Law Enforcement agencies but also with foreign agencies, including, the FBI, U.S. Customs, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Interpol.
In 1991 he graduated from St. Lawrence College majoring in Criminal Law and Counseling. Upon his graduation he was awarded the Academic Council Award for the highest academic proficiency in his graduating class. He was also a Graduate with Distinction. He was formally trained in computer forensics by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He is court certified as an expert in Internet Investigations, Computer Forensics, and in child pornography. He is A+ certified by the Computing Technology Industry Association. As a Detective he has experience in pornography, fraud, narcotics, employee computer abuse, and internet investigations. He has experience with the following operating systems; DOS, Windows, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Novell and Windows 2000. Since becoming employed he has testified as an expert witness in civil litigation proceedings regarding theft of trade secrets and a wrongful death law suit. He has also worked with several of the largest law firms in the United States on cases involving electronic document discovery issues.
