Responsibilities:
Develop and implement collaborative pharmaceutical care services for the in-patient adult psychiatric unit and the child, adolescent and adult outpatient clinics. These services focus on patient education, monitoring patients drug therapy to identify and prevent drug therapy problems, developing clinical pathways to ensure patients have positive outcomes with the most cost effective therapy, and staff development. Design implementation plan for Iowa Medicaid Pharmaceutical Case Management Services at BMC. Also serve, as a liaison between the pharmacy and psychiatry departments. Practice also serves as an educational site for Doctor of Pharmacy students completing their advanced practice experiences. Other faculty responsibilities include identifying research initiatives, committee work, academic advising and teaching psychiatry topics in the therapeutics sequence as well as two elective courses one with a focus on childrens mental health and the other on drugs and society.
