Expert in construction and repair of major shipboard systems including: hull, main propulsion, generating, piping, electro-hydraulic, HVAC/Refrigeration, and pneumatic.



Expert in Passenger Vessel operations, with emphasis on engineering safety.



Preparation of vessels for U.S. Coast Guard and International Classification Society hull and machinery inspections.



Hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) trained and fully qualified in all aspects of oil transfer operations in compliance with OPA 90 standards.



Factory Trained Master Mechanic for Caterpillar 3500 Series Diesel Engines.

Supervised engineering aspects of construction of the M/V XXXXXX in Atlantic Marine, Inc. Coordinated installation of machinery with shipyard and naval architects, for this 3500 passenger vessel. Oversaw change orders from owner to ensure overall project quality. Conducted acceptance trials on behalf of owner. Operated casino cruises on Lake Michigan as Chief Engineer of vessel. Supervised Engineering Department of 24 licensed and unlicensed personnel. Responsible for engineering safety of passengers, crew and vessel.

1998- Present
Independent Marine Consultant
Served as owners representative on various Ocean and Great Lakes Passenger Vessels. Assisted Shipyard and Ships Crew with structural and engineering repairs. Advised Owners on necessary actions to conform with Coast Guard and A.B.S. rules. Conducted Underwater Inspection and repair of vessels as Third Party Examiner, in accordance with U.S. Coast Guard Special Vessel Inspection Program. Was responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the tail-shaft and bearing replacement conformed to proper engineering standards. Conducted annual inspections of hull and internal structural examinations to ensure that vessels remained in compliance with the Special Vessel Inspection Program. Prepared and submitted the required reports to U.S. Coast Guard, detailing all aspects of the repair and inspection procedure.

Conducted surveys of commercial and large recreational vessels on behalf of various insurance companies and vessel owners.

Responsible for mechanical aspects of construction, maintenance, and repair of fleet of casino vessels. Overall supervision and implementation of company-wide safety practices relating to engineering. Responsible for shipyard conversion of M/V XXXXXX from dinner excursion vessel to offshore casino vessel. Oversaw over 100 shipyard and outside contractors in electrical, structural, and mechanical changes to vessel. Was responsible for work necessary to get A.B.S. Load Line Certificate for this vessel.

Responsible for watch operation on 120,000 horsepower steam propulsion plant. Coordinated boiler water and feed water testing on two of the largest commercial boilers ever installed on merchant vessels. Assisted with plant start up and shut down operations. Vessel carried military Roll on - Roll off cargos between U.S. and foreign ports.

Supervised conversion and reflagging of the M/V XXXXXXX. Acted as owner's representative for six-month shipyard period. Responsible for all aspects of the conversion and sale of this deep sea dive support vessel.

Assistant Engineer, USNS Dutton T-AGS 22

Watch engineer aboard this 8500 horsepower, 600 lb. steam turbine plant. Responsible for evaporators and lube oil purification; operation of steam propulsion machinery and auxiliaries. Vessel operated in support of the Naval Oceanographic Office, on a run between West Africa and South America.
