He was a Vice President of Pinkerton/Securitas, the World’s largest security company. Previously he had developed and managed, as Corporate Director of Security and Crisis Management, a comprehensive security and crisis and emergency management program for Waste Management, a $12 Billion International firm with 60,000 employees. He also established and owned a major Midwestern security firm. He was President of the International Security Management Association (ISMA), has been Board Certified as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) since 1979, has had several articles published on various aspects of security, and recently conducted a series of seminars on prevention of and response to Violence in the Workplace. He was a Chapter Chairperson and Regional Vice President and is presently a member of the National Strategic Planning Committee of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International). He is a member of the Board of the International Association of Professional Security Consultants.

As Security Director, Dick was also responsible for Information Protection, the HelpLine (an ombudsman/hotline process), and Emergency/Crisis Planning.

He has extensive experience in providing Litigation Support and Expert Witness services. He is known within the profession as a leader and innovator; and his demeanor, thoroughness and professionalism project integrity, experience and balance. His over thirty years of experience within the security profession conveys a unique level of qualification. He recently successfully provided expert witness services in a major Workplace Violence case.

We provide expert witness services in cases involving security-related negligence, wrongful death, foreseeability, failure to protect, inadequate premises protection, industry standards, etc. We also support cases related to the adequacy of security-related employment/screening practices, policies and procedures, training, supervision, etc. We have represented both Plaintiff and Defense. As a past provider and user/buyer of security officer services, he is particularly experienced in all aspects of guard and guard company management.
