Interpretation of the analytical data requires specialized geochemical expertise that many environmental consulting companies do not possess in-house. Our consultants interpret the data, which subsequently is included in their reports. We often perform expert testimony about our findings during discovery or at trial.

Profile: EW #274 is an environmental and geochemical laboratory and consulting company supporting attorneys and environmental consultants in assessment, remediation and litigation of spills in the environment.
Part of our work is chemical analysis and data interpretation for the forensic geochemistry aspects of CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) and NRDA (Natural Resources Damage Assessment) projects.
We have developed or modified analyses that allows us to:
· Identify the types of products released
· Distinguish products from different sources.
· Estimate the mixing ratios of products.
· Estimate the age of the product.
· Assign probable responsibility for sources of the contamination.
· Give expert witness testimony.

ZymaX Forensics is a division of ZymaX envirotechnology, inc. It was established in June 1999 when ZymaX acquired the assets of Global Geochemistry Corporation, established in 1975 in Canoga Park, California. Global’s geochemical laboratory and senior employees moved to the ZymaX site in San Luis Obispo, CA shortly after the acquisition.

Haddad, Principal Consultant, has a Ph. D in Chemical Oceanography from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a B.S. in Geology from University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Isaac R. Kaplan, Senior Consultant, is Professor Emeritus of Geology and Geochemistry at UCLA (retired 1993).
