Dr. Kaneshiro (CA PSY22537) is a licensed clinical psychologist and program chair for the Counseling Psychology Program at Argosy University, Orange County. She is also the former membership chair of the California Latino Psychological Association.  Dr. Kaneshiro has conducted numerous evaluations for immigration and asylum cases, and she is an expert on indiviudals with mixed race identities.

Prior to her current positions, Dr. Kaneshiro served as a senior staff psychologist at Monsour Counseling Center; which provided mental health services to the 7 Claremont Colleges -Pomona, Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, Scripps, Harvey Mudd, Claremont Graduate University and Keck Graduate Institute. In addition to providing student leadership training, group therapy, workshops, on-call services and individual therapy, she was liaison to the Chicano Latino Student Association and Claremont McKenna College. Dr. Kaneshiro also worked closely with the OBSA (Office of Black Student Affairs), the QRC (Queer Resource Center) and the AARC (Asian American Resource Center).

In her clinical work, she has experience working with adults, couples and children dealing with a variety of issues ranging from procrastination, adjustment, communication difficulties, to more severe issues. Due to her graduate training and personal experiences with differences; she is committed to considering every aspect of her clients' identity to better understand how their background (e.g., sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, etc...) contribute to their everyday experiences.

As a professor teaching Masters and Doctorate level students, she trains clinicians on how to use various methods to tailor their treatment based on their clients' needs and empirical evidence. However, for the most part Dr. Kaneshiro conceptualizes using object relations which emphasizes collaboration, inner strengths, and development of balance between autonomy and interdependence.
