EMS - Emergency Medical Service

The Emergency Medical Service system (known by the acronym "EMS" in the USA and Canada) is responsible for providing pre-hospital (or out-of-hospital) care by paramedics, emergency medical technicians (EMT's), and medical first responders (MFRs in US terminology). The goal of EMS is to provide early treatment to those in need of urgent medical care, and ultimately rapid transportation to an Emergency department. Stabilizing patients early (within the golden hour) significantly increases their chances of survival, particularly in the event of a heart attack, diabetic emergency, or severe physical trauma.

EMT - emergency medical technician

An emergency medical technician (EMT) is an emergency responder trained to provide emergency medical services to the critically ill and injured.

ENGINEERING - MECHANICAL

Mechanical engineering is a very broad field of engineering that involves the application of physical principles for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. The system can be as simple as the design of a chair for comfort or as complex as the operations of a turbocharged engine for speed. It can be as small as the manufacturing of a nano-sized gear or as large as the structure of a supertanker used to carry oil around the world.

FARM EQUIPMENT

Farm equipment is any kind of machinery used on a farm to help with farming. The best-known example of this kind of equipment is the tractor.

FIBER OPTICS

MACHINERY SAFEGUARDING

Crushed hands and arms, severed fingers, blindness -- the list of possible machinery-related injuries is as long as it is horrifying. MARITIME / COASTAL ENGINEERING

Marine Engineers are the officers of a ship which operate and maintain the propulsion and electrical generation systems onboard a ship. They also can help with the design, build, and repair of these complicated systems. New design is mostly included within the naval architecture or ship design. The merchant and military fleets of the world would not move without Marine Engineers. The field is closely related to mechanical engineering, although the modern engineer requires knowledge (and hands on experience) with electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, chemistry, control engineering, naval architecture, process engineering, gas turbines and even nuclear technology on military vessels.

PAINTBALL GUNS

A paintball marker or paintball gun is the primary device used in the game of paintball to mark an opposing player. It uses a rapidly expanding gas (usually CO2 or compressed air) to force a paintball through a barrel with a muzzle velocity of approximately 300 ft/s (91 m/s).

PLASTICS

Plastic covers a range of synthetic or semisynthetic polymerization products. They are composed of organic condensation or addition polymers and may contain other substances to improve performance or economics. There are few natural polymers generally considered to be "plastics". Plastics can be formed into objects or films or fibers. Their name is derived from the fact that many are malleable, having the property of plasticity. Plastics are designed with immense variation in properties such as heat tolerance, hardness, resiliency and many others. Combined with this adaptability, the general uniformity of composition and light weight of plastics ensures their use in almost all industrial segments.

POWER PLANTS

A fossil fuel power plant is an energy conversion center that combusts fossil fuels to produce electricity, designed on a large scale for continuous operation.

SCUBA

SCUBA is an acronym for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. These initials originated in 1939 in the US Navy to refer to US military diver's rebreather sets. As with radar, the acronym has become so familiar that it is often not capitalised and is treated as an ordinary word: for example, it has been taken into the Welsh language as "sgwba". A scuba set provides a scuba diver with the breathing gas necessary to breathe underwater.
