Ivan Rodriguez retired after 31 years of service with the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), which is the largest police department in the Southeast United States. He began his law enforcement career in 1983 as a police officer and during that time rose to the rank of Lieutenant.

Ivan Rodriguez has been training police and corrections recruits and law enforcement officers in Defensive  Tactics, Firearms, De-escalation, Patrol Tactics, Use of Force, SWAT, Active Shooter Response, and many other High Liability topics since 1988.

He is currently a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Criminal Justice and Standards Training Commission (CJSTC) certified instructor.

Ivan Rodriguez has been qualified as an expert and has testified in Federal and State Courts. Assistance provided included case analysis, deposition preparation and support, preparation of reports and affidavits and expert witness testimony.
